FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A request was made today in Fairbanks Superior Court to return items to the victim of Martin Hietala. Hietala was present via telephonic communication today. He faces charges of Kidnapping and Assault after he allegedly held a woman hostage in a hotel room for several days. During that time, the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted and tortured. In the hearing before Judge Blankenship, it was requested that items seized during the investigation be returned to the victim. Those items consisted of a gold chain, a silver bracelet, and identification cards. The hearing was postponed to August 17th where a decision will be reached.
