Renewed attempts to move state government from Juneau

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There is a new effort to move much of the state government out of Juneau to Anchorage without changing the capitol.

Ken Jacobus, an attorney assisting the effort, says that moving the legislative sessions would make them more accessible to the state's residents.

According to the Associated Press, it the initiative application passes a Department of Law reviews, supporters would need to gather signatures to qualify it for the ballot.
