FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) In a press release issued Monday morning one of the nation’s largest theater chains, Regal Cinemas, announced that they were closing their doors indefinitely until the concerns over coronavirus COVID-19 have passed.

“Regal announces closure of all theatre locations starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020, as a precaution amid the current circumstances. All theatres will remain closed until further notice. Please check back soon. We look forward to serving you again as soon as possible.”

They went on to add that starting tomorrow they are suspending monthly payments for their Regal Unlimited subscribers until they reopen.

“It’s our goal to provide a safe and healthy environment for our employees and guests. We value your patronage and have no doubt we will be serving you again as soon as possible with a full slate of Hollywood blockbusters.”

As the situation develops Regal will continue to update the status of their theaters online as well as on their mobile apps with the goal of reopening once the immediate danger has passed.
