FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) Jeremy Ray Hunt was arrested after he fled police on Wednesday.

Hunt was wanted by the Alaska State Troopers for multiple warrants including failure to appear and felony escape. He was also a suspect in a recent burglary at a local business where approximately $21,000 worth tools and equipment was stolen.

Troopers received information that Hunt was at a residence but before they got there he had left in a vehicle. Troopers located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle Hunt was in and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle went into reverse, performed a J-turn and drove down a gravel road swerving and fishtailing out of control while fleeing the area. The driver, identified by charging documents as Hunt then drove the vehicle into a ditch and fled on foot.

Troopers received a call from a homeowner saying his truck had been rifled through and a jacket matching the description of the one Hunt was wearing was found in his truck. He also said he thought someone could be in his motorhome. Troopers responded and found hunt inside the motorhome and arrested him.

They found he had packed a bag of items from the motorhome with an estimated value of over $1,500.

Hunt was also a suspect in a burglary at a Fairbanks business earlier this month. According to charging documents, Hunt and an accomplice broke into a business off of Van Horn and stole tools, computers and a Polaris side-by-side. Video surveillance shows the suspects walking up to the business and a male going to the breaker box before footage was lost. The suspects also removed one of the security cameras.

Hunt was charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, vehicle theft, criminal trespass, failure to stop and attempted theft.

He was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center after he was arrested.
