FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A component of the sprinkler system in Pioneer Park's 'Centennial Center theater' caused a series of leaks in the building.
In a statement, Park Manager Donnie Hayes says a fire Suppression Sprinkler head caused water to fall from the ceilings in the theater and hallways last Friday.
Hayes says damage was minimal, and the Fairbanks North Star Borough Maintenance Department was able to fix the broken piece quickly.
From there, they began the process of cleaning.
The Pioneer Park staff has been working to dry and clean the carpet, in order to keep the older, historic building functional.
