FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KXDF) You'll go loco for Lobo, get ready to meet him in this weeks’ edition of 'Pet of the Week.'
"My name is Sarah, I'm here at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter with Lobo. He's a Border Collie Husky mix with a lot of energy, so we wouldn't recommend he go to a family with small kids. Older kids might be okay if they know how to behave around dogs and if you work on his obedience. He does like to jump up on people sometimes so we wouldn't want him to knock over any small kids.
We're not sure how he does around cats but huskies do have a tendency to have a high pray drive so we wouldn't recommend him to go to a house with cats either.
He would do really well with a young couple who's very active. Huskies and border collies are well behaved when they are tired.
He's a very friendly guy but can be selective about what dogs he is friends with so we ask that you bring any other K-9 friends that may be living in the house with him by to meet him as well. Make sure everyone gets along.
He does know some obedience, he can sit and lay down. He would definitely benefit from more obedience to get him comfortable with what your expectations are from him. He's young, very capable of learning, very excited and happy friendly and looking for a good home.
If dogs aren't your style we have lots of other critters here available for adoption, cats and bunnies and chinchillas, so come by and see if you can find a new friend."
