It's hard to resist a pair of mastiff brown eyes... and although he looks big, his heart is even bigger.

Meet Jax in this segment of news 13's ’Pet of the Week.'

"Jax came to the shelter after he was surrendered due to the owners living change. The previous owner said he is house broken, kennel trained, he does well with kids, other dogs.

He is just a really active dog that acts a lot like a puppy sometimes. He doesn't have a lot of manners, he needs some training. Basic obedience classes would be great for him.

Here at the shelter he has gotten along well with the other dogs. He has been super playful. He is a bit strong so he plays pretty good on the leash, some training will help with that.

Jax does act like a puppy, so he will chew on some things when he is left unattended. It's important to get him appropriate dog chew toys to prevent that. Also kennel him when you are not home just to make sure he doesn't chew on anything he shouldn't be.

Jax also has other small animal friends and cats and dogs at the shelter looking for loving homes."
