FAIRBANKS, Alaska Dilbert the rabbit is available for adoption at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter. Animal tender Kimberly Imbert, says Dilbert was found as a stray and seems to be exceptionally friendly, and was probably a pet before he was released.
"Someone was able to catch him and save him, and he's been really friendly while at the shelter, really social, not too scared, and he's starting to learn how to use his litter box, so he's a really nice rabbit. We think he's probably about 2 years old, so he's younger," said Imbert.
Imbert says the best home for Dilbert would be a home that wants a rabbit, "they are kind of special, unique, they're different than dogs and cats, they like to chew on things, and they can't be around house plants, but they're really easy to care for, because they just need one area or one room that's bunny proofed for them. So a family that's able to accommodate a small pet like that."
If you are interested in adopting Dilbert or another animal at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal shelter, Imbert recommends stopping by the animal shelter, "we discuss the animal’s needs and how they will fit into your family, and so the best way is to come in and meet them in person."
