Meet Atlas, a ten year old husky in need of a new adventure. (Carly Sjordal, KTVF)

"Hi my name is Heather Ritchie here at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter and today we have Atlas.

Atlas is a 10 year old male Alaskan husky. He came to us as a stray so we don't know too much about him. But we do know he has been here multiple times before so we think he might have a little wanderlust, he might know how to escape. So be sure to keep him contained.

He's a really good boy, he's been really good while his been here. He keeps his kennel clean. We think he does pretty good with other dogs and children.

He might not get along with other males. I would recommend bringing your dogs into meet him before you take him home.

He's an older guy so he's definitely going to benefit from some mild exercise everyday to make sure he can keep his joints healthy. Keep him on a diet to make sure he doesn't get overweight.

Atlas also has some more friends down at the animal shelter. We have lots of Guinea Pigs, a ferret, a rabbit, and lots of dogs and cats."
