FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) Michael and Joseph Cofey entered not guilty pleas for multiple charges including robbery, theft and assault in connection with a robbery at the Best Western hotel off of Airport Way.

According to charging documents, the victims, a woman and her boyfriend who had just arrived from Anchorage, heard a knock at their hotel room door. When they opened the door, two men and a woman pushed their way into the room. One of the men and the female had guns. They told the female victim to get on the ground and that if she wasn’t quiet they would kill her.

The three suspects allegedly took the couples phones, and car keys and then left the room.

According to Troopers, they came back to the hotel and took the car. Troopers located the stolen vehicle in the Boatel Bar parking lot. Inside the bar they found cousins Michael and Joseph Cofey.

Michael Cofey is also known as local rap artist, ‘StarBuks.’

The woman, who was later identified as Tasha Swanson, was arrested but was not arraigned today.

Michael and Swanson are facing additional charges of unlawful contact for calling each other after a judge ordered no contact with co-defendants in the case.

Joseph and Michael Cofey are facing charges of first degree robbery, vehicle theft, theft in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree and tampering with physical evidence.
