North Pole Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Charges

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A North Pole man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for distributing and receiving child pornography.

Eric Whitebread, 43, was found guilty of downloading over 618 images of child pornography in 2015.

Whitebread says others had access to his computer, and denied having anything to do with the pornography - a claim that the prosecution disproved to the jury.

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, the prosecution also introduced evidence that Whitebread had previously been accused of inappropriately touching a minor, and having sexual relations with a 15 year old while he was in his 20's.

After Whitebread serves his prison sentence, he will have 35 years of supervised release.
