Murkowski Addresses the Senate about Trumps Emergency Declaration

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Senator Lisa Murkowski spoke on the Senate Floor about her support for a resolution disapproving of President Trump's national emergency declaration, saying that sticking up for Congress' power doesn't have to come at the expense of border security.
"I believe very strongly we can address the President's concerns,” Murkowski said. “The very, very real and legitimate concerns that need to be addressed – but we don't have to do it at the expense of ceding that authority, ceding that power of the purse, ceding that article one power that we have here."

The Senate is expected to vote on the resolution in the coming days.
At least four Republicans have expressed their support for the measure, meaning it should pass the Senate.
President Trump has made it clear he intends to veto the resolution.
