FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Senator Lisa Murkowski gave her 16th address to the Alaska State Legislature Tuesday.
Murkowski spoke on the effects that the recent partial government shutdown had on Alaska, including delaying supplies for the Yukon Quest, and the work she has done to protect Alaskans from that.
She talked about the efforts she and Dan Sullivan have put forth to secure more funding and programs beneficial to Alaska.
During the speech, she announced funding for a new icebreaker for the state.
After her report, she took questions from legislators.
Senator Sullivan will also be addressing the state legislature on Thursday.
