FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Isidro Clemons, 18, of Fairbanks was arrested Saturday and charged with reckless endangerment after he allegedly fired an AR-15 at Sophie Station.

Witnesses called police and said they heard a loud pop, then saw a group of young men put a gun into a car and drive away. Police were able to get a description of the car and the license plate number and located the car a short time later.

They found an AR-15 and a sawed off shotgun in the trunk of the car. They arrested all five passengers but Clemons said he was the one who fired the shot and agreed to speak with police.

He said the rifle had misfire issues, and that he was holding the rifle with his finger on or near the trigger when he jumped off the stairs of the Sophie C Building, which he says led to the gun going off.

He was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center on the Reckless Endangerment Charge.
