FAIRBANKS, Alaska - On February 21st, just before midnight, State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a male subject driving a Chevrolet pick-up that had struck a vehicle occupied by a family with four juveniles.
According to the Alaska State Trooper Dispatch, the driver then began shooting at the family on Chena Hot Springs Road near Nordale.
Multiple units from AST, Fairbanks Police Department, and North Pole Police responded.
Investigation revealed Tucker Holmgren, age 34 of Fairbanks, was operating his vehicle while intoxicated when he struck the family car and fired upon them.
Holmgren was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on charges relating to misconduct involving weapons in the 1st degree, assault in the 3rd degree, and a felony DUI.
Holmgren refused to submit to a chemical test.
