Local man faces charges of murder, assault

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A local man was arraigned in District Court Tuesday on charges of attempted murder and assault. According to reports, Fairbanks Police responded to American Tire and Auto on South Cushman Street just after 10 a.m. Monday for a report of a man speeding through the property and nearly hitting someone. The man was identified as Christopher Albin, who officers were unable to locate during the first response.

Upon further investigation, officers learned Albin went to the victim's place of employment and reportedly tried to run him over several times. The report states Albin hit the victim's vehicle, the building and a business vehicle while yelling "I'm going to kill you" and then he left.

Albin was located a few hours later in the Lakeview Terrace area, and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. During his arraignment it was revealed Albin will be facing another assault charge in a separate case where he committed a similar crime. The combined total of bail in each case is $60,000.
