FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) Well known artist Iris Sutton is displaying her new collection in downtown Fairbanks. She has designed posters for KUAC, she has been a featured artist at Venue, and she painted 'Gulls Perch', which was featured in the Art for Heart window project in downtown Fairbanks.

Her latest show at the Two Street Gallery is entitled 'Little Life' and is a collection reflecting and appreciating the smaller forms of life.

"Usually my art work is based on large animals and landscapes with large paintings. For this show I wanted to do smaller stuff, partly because this gallery is smaller and partly because it was something I hadn't done yet." Said Sutton.

Sutton says there are benefits for artists in Fairbanks especially concerning landscapes and unusual sights.

"I think the artist community in Fairbanks is amazing. For the size of our city we have so many arts and so many opportunities for learning arts it's pretty wonderful."

Sutton asserted the importance of teaching art to children to continue encouraging the art culture in the Interior.

Sutton's art can be viewed at Two Street Gallery until August 30th.
