Thursday is the National Day of Prayer- an event that falls on the first Thursday of May every year.
Congregations from all across the nation came together today in celebration, making this year the 66th annual national observance.
Churches from across Fairbanks gathered at the Pioneer Park chapel for its 3rd year of celebration.
In attendance were several pastors from across the city, who took turns praying for topics such as government, the military, and businesses.
After the group prayer, everyone broke off into smaller groups for 5 minutes of personal prayer.
Each speaker explained why this day is important to them, and Pastor Nola Kurber spoke about how it is a privilege to be able to come together and pray.
