Federal judge dismisses Fairbanks Four damages claim

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Four damages claim against the city of Fairbanks was dismissed by a federal judge Tuesday after citing a United States Supreme Court case. According to a press release from the City of Fairbanks, the judgement means that Roberts, Vent, Pease and Frese do not have the grounds to claim damages because their case doesn't qualify under the legal precedent.

The four men, together, spent over 70 years in prison for the 1997 murder of John Hartman, before their convictions were vacated in 2015. We will have more on this story in the coming weeks.
