A press release for the event says it is for children, high school students, college students and anyone else who wants to learn more about the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
Karen Lapp who is helping organize the event says that there will be hands on activities as well as information about what is needed to get into different career fields. The event has a rock and roll theme and they are encouraging the staff to wear costumes.
Lapp says she hopes the event will get more people interested in the health care field in Fairbanks.
"This years 'Health Care Careers Rock' career expo is designed to engage community youth into health care professions,” Lapp said. “They are able to come and talk to local professionals who work in careers that they might be interested in... We are focusing on careers that they can do here at home. So we really want kids to go into health care and come home and work in their community."
The event will take place at the hospital from 2:30 to 6:30 P.M. on Monday.
