In the Golden Heart City, the Fairbanks Food Bank is still serving the community despite the ongoing development of the coronavirus. Volunteers are coming in to help put together food boxes.

"I am so proud of our community. If I could have a big sign that says thank you I would. Of course we are being impacted. Our volunteers, they're still safe coming here are." said CEO of Fairbanks Food Bank, Anne Weaver about the support that is pouring in.

The Food Bank offers food boxes of breakfast, lunch and dinner. According Weaver they have drivers six days a week to make deliveries.

"The food intake is always the trickiest because when there is no food on the shelf it's kind of hard to have the food come to the food bank," said Weaver. "Everybody is being so thoughtful about that. As people are staying at home there is all these questions about them but people are choosing to step up and help and share what they have."

The Food Bank is open from 9 A.M.-5 P.M. on Monday through Friday and 10 A.M.-2 P.M. on Saturdays. For more information visit their website at fairbanksfoodbank.org.
