Fairbanks Drama Association’s latest play opens tonight

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Theater fans are invited to travel back to the 17th century with the Fairbanks Drama Association's latest play, "The Crucible", which opens tonight at the Hap Ryder Theater.

The Crucible tells the story of the Salem Witch Trials in 1693.

The play is mostly historically accurate, but also seeks to address modern problems.

According to the director, Paul Adasiak, an important theme is the significance of truth.

Adasiak spoke about why he enjoys directing plays.

"Toward the end when you get to see all the scenes that you have worked so hard to craft, pull together, all in order and see the tension build and see the story told, see not just little moments but see this sweeping tragic story, that's the best." said Adasiak.
