FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force arrests principal of Bethel elementary school

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Gladys Jung Elementary School Principal Christopher Carmichael has been arrested by the FBI.

In a release, the FBI says on Tuesday night Carmichael was arrested by the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force, the Bethel Police Department, and the Alaska State Troopers.

Law enforcement says Carmichael is currently in custody, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Alaska expects formal charges to be filed Wednesday or Thursday.

As of 2:30 p.m., no charges had been filed in the US Court for the District of Alaska.

The investigation is ongoing.
