Eielson Airman found dead in North Pole

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An airman from Eielson Air Force Base was found dead just before noon Monday in North Pole. 23-year-old Senior Airman, Elijah Evans, has been at Eielson Air Force Base since November 2016, according to Eielson Public Affairs. He was a member of the 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
According to the North Pole Police Department, Evans was pronounced dead in the parking lot of Gorilla Fireworks. Police say the case is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.

In a press release, Colonel Benjamin Bishop, said "We are heartbroken to have lost a valued member of our team yesterday...Eielson considers itself a family and the loss of Elijah is felt by each of us deeply. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and are with all those affected by this tragedy."
