Dunleavy sworn in as Alaska's new governor

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Governor Mike Dunleavy and Lieutenant Governor Kevin Meyer were sworn in Monday in Kotzebue. Due to thick fog, the group was unable to reach Noorvik where the swearing in was scheduled to take place.

One of the main points Dunleavy made in a speech to the people of Kotzebue was public safety. He and his wife, Alaska's new First Lady, Rose Dunleavy, later arrived in Noorvik for inaugural celebrations.

The commissioners Dunleavy appointed start Monday as well.
