FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The man accused of stabbing a victim in East Fairbanks on Halloween night pleaded 'not guilty' yesterday in Fairbanks Superior Court.
26 year old Sheldon Charles Wolfe told authorities he was acting in self-defense.
The Fairbanks Police Department says the victim, Armagan Idil, was stabbed fatally in the neck near the Old Steese Highway and College Road on October 31st.
Detectives followed footprints leaving the scene back to the Alaska Motor Inn, and eventually contacted Wolfe.
Wolfe told officers he stabbed Idil only after the victim hit Wolfe's friend in the back of the head with a blunt weapon.
His next court date is set for the 20th.
