FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) According to court documents, Fairbanks Police have filed charges against a Costco employee after she allegedly used a customer’s credit card to rack up over $10,000 in charges.

FPD was contacted in July by someone reporting he had received a $10,160.39 bill on his Costco Citibank Visa Card. The man said he had applied for the card but had never received it or used it. The man had also reported the charges to Costco who said all the charges came from a Rousie Sui on the account. The victim didn’t know anyone with that name and hadn’t authorized her to be on the account.

Costco conducted an internal investigation and found that Sui was an employee. According to Costco, she had set up the account for the victim and added her name to the account. According to the charging documents, Costco interviewed Sui and she admitted to creating the unauthorized card and using it to make the purchases.

When police interviewed Sui she told them that she had family economic issues and her husband was out of work and had a surgery. She told police that the purchases where for travel, food and lodging connected to her husband’s surgery in Anchorage as well as for food for their family and school supplies.

Sui is charged with scheme to defraud, fraudulent use of an access device, theft 2, and access device/ID fraud.

We reached out to Costco but as of publishing have yet to hear back.
