Community of Ester holds annual Fourth of July parade

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The community of Ester known for its quirkiness celebrated its annual Fourth of July parade. One of the judges said he thinks the fact that the parade isn't very serious is part of what makes it unique. Participants wore elaborate costumes and provided bribes to the judges.

While some floats also expressed their opposition to the Governor's recent vetoes, residents say the parade is all about the community...

And Judge Hillary Schaefer described the spectacle in a few words, "local, Country, Flair, I came from southern California, and I really don't know how I wound up in Ester, sometimes I'm amazed, especially on the Fourth of July," said Schaefer.
