FAIRBANKS, Alaska Hot dry weather across the state has lead officials to issue a broad sweeping burn suspension.

The Alaska Division of Forestry issued the suspension Wednesday, for Fairbanks, Delta, Tok, the Kenai Peninsula and Mat-Su Valley.
During a burn suspension open debris burning and burn barrels are prohibited. Campfires smaller than three feet in diameter are allowed but officials advise against them.

The Alaska DOF asks residents of the affected area to be extremely careful with any activity that could cause a fire.
