FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks North Star Borough released the final draft of the 'Eielson Air Force Base Regional Growth Plan'. The Borough developed the plan using a grant from the Department of Defense to prepare the community for the arrival of two squadrons of F-35's at Eielson. The new addition to the base will bring approximately 3,300 new residents to the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

Mayor Karl Kassel says they are hoping to hear from the community on the best ways to implement some of the 100 suggestions that resulted from the regional growth plan.

"I encourage folks to get engaged, take a look at this document and the recommendations, see where they might be able to help, get engaged in the Salcha-Badger Plan. Give us your comments because that's the best way to see our community. Be what you want it to be moving forward," he said.
