Art Chance declines position in Dunleavy Administration after social media posts cause uproar

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In another turn for Governor Mike Dunleavy's administration, a cabinet appointee has declined to take a job with the state. According to the Associated Press, Art Chance did not accept his offer of employment. This came after Chance was found to have posted inappropriate comments on his personal Facebook page regarding Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, homosexuals and women.

Dunleavy spokesperson Matt Shuckerow says the administration doesn't comment on personal matters but citing the "seriousness" of the posts, he says a review is being conducted. Governor Mike Dunleavy said in a statement, the decision was “for the best.”
