FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) American Airlines will be expanding its service to Alaska and Montana. Starting on May 7, 2020, American Airlines will begin direct flights to Fairbanks International Airport from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The flights will be seasonal and run from May through October 6 each year. Tickets will be available for purchase on September 1.
American Airlines is also adding a direct flight from Chicago to Anchorage that will run same dates.
American Airlines said in a press release today that they are adding the new flights to Alaska and Montana to better serve national parks.
The airline will have 17 routes to Alaska and Montana next summer.
FAI has seen an increase in flights over the past few years. This year United Airlines added new seasonal direct flights from San Francisco to Fairbanks and Denver to Fairbanks. They also added an additional Seattle to Fairbanks flight and extended their seasonal flights to Chicago.
