Anchorage, AK Alaskans have another opportunity to own a piece of the Last Frontier as the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) begins its 2020 auction of 110 parcels of remote and road-accessible land throughout the state.

Starting March 4, DNR will accept sealed bids for up to two parcels each from Alaska residents in person, by mail, or online until 5 p.m. on June 11, in its 2020 Alaska State Land Auction, Offering #489. The department will announce the apparent high bids for each parcel on June 24.

“Putting Alaska lands into Alaskans’ hands helps residents build their dreams and fulfills our state Constitution’s mandate to provide for settling the land,” said Governor Mike Dunleavy. “I encourage all residents to consider taking advantage of the opportunity represented by this land auction.”

Free brochures on the auction sale can be downloaded now from the DNR Land Sales website at:

After the auction sale is concluded, unsold parcels will be available for sale on an over-the-counter (OTC) basis starting at 10 a.m. on July 8. More information on OTC sales is available in Auction Brochure #489, on page 23. OTC parcels currently available for purchase are posted on the Land Sales website’s Over-the-Counter section. DNR offers competitive in-house financing for land purchases.
