FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In a 3 to 2 vote, the Alaska Marijuana Control Board has approved onsite consumption. The rules as they stand now dictate consumption sites must be outdoors or separated from a retail store. Items that contain cannabis, derived extracts with concentrated amounts of THC will not be allowed to be consumed onsite.
Local governments will still be able to bar onsite consumption, and businesses wishing to add it to their operation have to apply.
The Department of Law must review the new rules before the approval can be finalized.
