FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska State Troopers are asking the public to be careful this Thanksgiving. Last year, there were 183 home fires in the last frontier that were cooking-related. In those fires, five Alaskans were killed and nine were injured.
Alaska State Fire Marshal David Tyler said they are asking, "Alaskans to not become complacent when preparing their holiday meal. Your life and the lives of your family and friends are too important to risk."
