FAIRBANKS, Alaska. (KTVF) Computers at the Noel Wien Library are now available to the public again. Starting on Wednesday June 10, patrons can make an appointment for a 1 hour and 45 minute computer session.
There are set time slots at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. The stations are cleaned between uses.
Members of the public can also make a shorter appointment to get a library card or clear up any card issues.
Curbside pickup for books is still available through the Bookmobile, parked in the Noel Wein Library parking lot.
Melissa Harter, library director for the Fairbanks North Star Borough, says it is important to provide access to services like the computers.
"That's what a public library does, it's the great equalizer, and it provides access and tools for folks to get their lives back on track. To be able to apply for benefits, or jobs or write your resume or anything like that. Learn a new skill, so sometimes this is the only place people can do that. So that's why we're here, to help people," said Harter.
Patrons can make an appointment by calling the library at 459-1020.
