Abandoned structure catches fire in Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) The Fairbanks Fire Department (FFD) responded to a structure fire Sunday at around 8:40 in the morning. According to a press release from the department, they received several 911 calls reporting a house on fire near the Steese Highway and College Road.

Crews from FFD, University Fire Department and Ft. Wainwright Fire Department responded to the area and found an abandoned structure with flames coming out of the roof. They were able to get the blaze under control in 11 minutes.

According to law enforcement the property is known to be frequented by transient individuals. No one was found in the structure and no injuries were reported.
