FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Hugo likes long walks to the park, treats and snuggling up with his people after a day of fun. And he's looking for his forever home. Animal tender Kimberly Imbert introduces him in this week's Pet of the Week.
"Hi my name is Kimberly and this week's Pet of the Week is Hugo. Hugo is a seven-year-old lab mix who was brought to the shelter because he wasn't doing well with the small children in the home. Hugo is looking for a family with children that are six years and older. He is really well housebroken, and he has lived with other dogs in his own family but we recommend mutual visits with any other dogs in the home because he doesn't always give the best greetings to dogs and they don't always appreciate his socialized behavior. Hugo has never lived with small animals or cats, so we are not sure how he would do with those. You should just be cautious if you have small animals or cats in the home. Hugo is a really friendly boy, he does great at the shelter. He sheds a lot because he is a lab mix. He only has a short tail because of an incident that happened in his past and they had to have his tail docked. He is a great dog looking for a loving home that doesn't expect or have small children. Hugo has other animal friends at the shelter looking for loving homes as well."
