Meet Patty, the 24 lb cat looking for a Fairbanks home

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In the latest 'Pet of the Week', we met Patty the cat.

"Hi, I'm Kimberly, and this week's 'Pet of the Week' is Patty. Patty was brought to the shelter because he had been abandoned in an apartment. He is a big boy who is hoping to find a home that can help him lose some weight. He doesn't like other cats. Patty will bully them and kind of be food aggressive, so in a multi-cat home he will eat food from multiple cats. Keeping him as an only cat will be better for him not just behaviorally, but also because then his food can be limited appropriately. Patty really does well with children, so he would do great in a home with children. He just hopes that he can be the only cat. We don't know how he is with dogs, but with a slow introduction and a nice, calmer dog he would probably do fine. A younger puppy he might not tolerate quite as well. Patty uses his litter box really well at the shelter, and he has just been a really sweet guy to work with while he has been here. He is hoping to find a loving home that will take really good care of him. Patty also has other cat, dog and small animal friends at the shelter looking for loving homes."
