Sara Tewksbury moved to Alaska in 2017 to accept a short-term internship in science communication at UAF. She fell in love with the state, decided to stay, and joined us in December of 2017.
Sara received a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut, and received her M.S. in Science Journalism from Stony Brook University in New York. Her love for television started in college, where she was a part of the student-run television station UCTV while pursuing her science degree.
She is a full-time reporter and enjoys covering borough and science stories, but also likes following any story that impacts the community.
In the winters, Sara pursues her love of dog sledding by volunteering at races and kennels. She can't wait to go on many adventures and see as much of Alaska as she can.
