Yukon Quest Starting order officially set

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2019 Edition of the Yukon Quest is set to start in Whitehorse this Saturday as the mushers embark on the thousand mile trail to Fairbanks.
The starting order was set last night when the mushers drew their bib numbers at the Starting Banquet.
Denis Tremblay, who is running the race for the first time since 2013, will be the first musher out of the gate this year.
Former Champions will begin right after Tremblay, with Hans Gatt and Brent Sass taking off second and third.
Remy Leduc will be the first rookie to leave the Dog Yard, starting the race in the number four spot, and veteran Torsten Kohnert will round out the top five.
Thirty Mushers will embark on the Yukon Quest this year, with veteran musher Rob Cooke starting in the red lantern spot.
The race starts on Saturday, and if the past few years are any indicator, we can expect the first finisher to arrive in Fairbanks 9-10 days later.
