Wolfpack boys and girls dominate Region 6 Track meet

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Track season continued over the weekend with a meet at West Valley high school.
The host school was dominant on the boy's side of things, winning all but three of the events. ​
The Wolfpack started this streak with wins in all the short and long distance races. ​
Justin Cummings won the 100 meter dash while Jomar Perez took the 200, and Ellis Alston won the 400. ​
Camron Herron won both the 800 and 1600 meter races while Jack Kendall took the 3200 meter. ​
Terrell Johnson continued his streak with a win in the 300 meter hurdles while the Wolfpack swept the relays and the jumps. ​
Johnson brought home the High and Long Jump titles while Alston won the triple jump. ​
Out of the three events not won by West Valley, two of those were won by the Eielson Ravens. ​
Toby Tristan won the 110 meter hurdles while Mason Johnson took the top spot in the Shot Put. ​
Jace Henry put the Malemutes on the board with a win in the Discus. ​
West Valley also won the most events on the Girl's side of things, taking the top spot in half of them. ​
Olivia Manley won the 100 meter dash while Naomi Bailey took the 800 and Kendall Kramer won the 1600. ​
Sheridan Blasey won the 300 meter hurdles and the Discus while the Wolfpack also swept each of the relays. ​
A different team was able to earn a sweep of the jumping events as North Pole athletes took each of the top spots there. ​
Olivia Berg won both the long and triple jump while Bree O'Rear won the high jump. ​
For Lathrop, Maya Pelayo was victorious in the Discus. ​
Three smaller schools were also able to break the West Valley monopoly. ​
Maura Grahek won the 200 meter race for Monroe Catholic while Katie Bast won the 3200. ​
Natalie Clemente took the 400 meter crown for Hutchison while Eielson's Jolie Lucas took the 100 meter hurdles. ​
We are already quickly approaching the end of track season. ​
The Region Championships will be held this Friday and Saturday at West Valley.
