West Valley takes 10th consecutive MAC title

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - West Valley has taken their 10th consecutive Mid Alaska Conference title, and their 20th overall. This was achieved last night with the Wolfpack's 25-19, 17-25, 25-11 and 25-17 match score against North Pole, who concluded their season last night.
Kami Steel, one of the seven seniors for West Valley's program contributed five kills and 16 digs.
This was also Steel's second year in the program, and her second-time standing as a champion in the MAC.
The Patriots gave a good fight, but the last of their energy was spent when middle-blocker Rania Girard narrowed down West Valley's lead to 24-17 in the final set. This however was met with Steel's final slam that won the match.
With this match out of the way and West Valley victorious once more, opening up a decade of dominance by the program, this makes way for the announcements of the All-Mid Alaska Conference teams. And as expected West Valley's Team consists of Kami Steel, Sonia McGaffigan, Ellen Silva and Jozey Martellaro.
