FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Soccer Championships continued last night and the West Valley boys were able to advance to the semi-finals with a tough win over the South Anchorage Wolverines.
The Wolfpack advanced with a 1-0 victory over South.
Ethan Raygor knocked in a goal off of a corner kick about halfway through the first half.
That would prove to be the only goal of the game as the Wolfpack held their Anchorage opponents scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
Goaltender Kristaps Bareika earned his 10th shutout of the year to help the pack advance.
They will look to continue their unbeaten season tonight in the second round against West Anchorage.
The rest of our interior teams were in consolation bracket play this morning.
The North Pole Girls and Monroe Catholic boys advanced with victories.
Monroe defeated Palmer 3-1 and North Pole was victorious 2-0 over the Kodiak Bears.
The Rams will now play either Homer or Grace Christian in the Consolation final, while the Patriots will play Homer or Palmer.
