West Valley basketball teams sweep Lathrop

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There were a pair of conference basketball double-headers on the West side of town last night.
We'll start with the Mid Alaska Conference twin bill between the West Valley Wolfpack and the Lathrop Malemutes.
West Valley earned a sweep, defeating their cross-town rivals in both games.
In the boys contest, West Valley won 68-45.
They jumped out to a 33-21 lead after the first half and were able to ride that momentum from there to secure the win.
Terrell Peter had a masterful scoring performance, finishing the day with 28 points.
The next highest scorer was Demarcus Davis, who finished with 11.
For the Malemutes, Tyriq Luke led the team with a 12 point effort.
And in the girl's game, West Valley finished the sweep with a 71-52 victory.
UAA Basketball commit Ellen Silva led the Pack with 21 points while Ali May and Jozey Martellaro both added 13, and Sierra Tate and Sheridan Blasey both earned 12.
Next up for these two teams, West Valley will be heading down south for the West Anchorage Tournament and Lathrop will heading down to Sitka.
