FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Believe it or not, it's already time for soccer season and our first Interior Team was in action last night.
The West Valley boys opened their season in the Anchorage Dome with a dominant 7-1 victory over the Kenai Central Kardinals.
The Wolfpack were able to overcome what coach Howard Maxwell called "a slow start" before scoring their first goal seventeen minutes in.
The Pack rattled off five goals before Kenai got on the board, and then secured the win with two more.
Senior Drew Rizk earned himself a hat trick to lead the team in scoring, finishing with three goals in the season opener.
The other Wolfpack scores were provided by Chris Elbell, Vaughn Simpson, Mike Dow, and Seth Thomas.
Garrett Crane led the Wolfpack in assists with 3 while Dow and Thomas both finished with two.
Kristaps Bareika secured the win in goal for the Wolfpack.
The Pack will stay in the dome for one more matchup against a Kenai Peninsula opponent, the Soldotna Stars.
