FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Another Interior Athlete signed her national letter of Intent earlier today.
West Valley Basketball standout Sierra "SiSi" Tate will be playing for the UAA Seawolves next season.
Tate has been a consistent force for the Wolfpack girls in these past few years.
It all came to a head this season when she eclipsed 1,000 career points at the High School level.
She was also a first team all-state selection by the Alaska Association of Basketball coaches while USA Today also listed her on their All-Alaska team.
She will now be taking her talents down to Anchorage when she joins the Seawolves.
UAA is a Division 2 Program who are members of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
This also means that she'll be joining fellow Wolfpack star and UAA commit Ellen Silva.
We talked to SiSi after she signed about why UAA was the right spot for her.
"It was really tough. I had a lot of coaches calling and texting and giving offers and stuff so it made it really hard to pick one. I picked UAA because they have a really good program. Like, they can compete at the Division 1 level and that's what I'm looking for. And it's also a four year college which is where I wanted to go. I'm hoping that I can bring in my speed that I can bring to the game and i play pretty good defense so I think that's going to help a lot too," said Tate.
