FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The West Valley Wolfpack were victorious over the Lathrop Malemutes, defeating their cross-town Rivals 12-1. Andrew Troppman led the Wolpack with three RBIs While Eric Kelly brought in 2 runners while going a perfect 2 for 2 at the plate. Shaun Conwell pitched four innings for the Wolfpack to earn the win on the mound, striking out five and only allowing one hit. Gus Jensen then stepped in and pitched a no-hitter for the Wolfpack in an inning of relief. This was the first time Jensen had stepped back on the field since tearing his ACL last year and he was able to help the Wolfpack successfully improve to 7-1 on the year. We talked to Jensen after the game about his successful comeback and how the team feels moving forward.

"I had tons of butterflies. I was nervous but my team they were there for me hyping me up so I was ready to go and play. This is a great team everyone's got each other, we've got each other's backs, we're just out here for eachother. That's all we play for. It just felt great. I was waiting so long to get back, you know, just working hard, getting ready and I finally got my moment. Got my chance," said Jensen.

The Hutchison Hawks were also victorious last night, defeating the Eieslon Ravens 16-6. Both teams were actually tied at two runs going into the fifth inning, but Hutchison scored six runs in the bottom of that frame. Eielson stopped the bleeding with four runs in the sixth, but Hutch responded with 8 more to close the game. Josh "Action" Bronson was the scoring leader, going 3 for 4 at the plate with a score and two RBIs. Isaac Roehl also had a good night, going 4 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and three scores. Bronson also pitched all six innings, striking out 14 and only allowing 8 hits. Next up for these teams, Eielson will play North Pole at Newby Fied tonight while Hutchison will host Delta.
