West Valley Baseball opens up season with pair of wins

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The West Valley Wolfpack baseball team got their season started with a win last night over the Eielson Ravens.
The Wolfpack won 13-8. ​
Eielson actually got out to a 3-0 lead early on, but West Valley Rallied with three runs in both the third and fourth innings, six in the fifth, and one more in the seventh. ​
Shaun Conwell led the Wolfpack with three RBIs while Andrew Troppman struck out six runners in 2.1 innings pitching. ​
Eielson was led at the plate by Mason Steffers, who brought home two runners.​
The Wolfpack were in action late this afternoon against the North Pole Patriots, a matchup that they won 19-13. ​
Andrew Troppman and Graydon Lesneski both finished with four hits for the Pack. ​
Troppman earned three RBIs and 2 scores while Leskeski scored five times. ​
Conwell once again led the team in strikeouts with 5 in two innings of work on the mound. ​
That was game one of a double-header, and we'll have the results from game two on Monday.
