FAIRBANKS, Alaska - More schedules for the University of Alaska Fairbanks sports teams are rolling out after the news that they will play all of its sports for the upcoming year.
On Thursday, the men's and women's cross country running schedules were released.
This year, the squads will warm up their season with the Blue vs. Gold 5-Kilometer on August 31st. The race on the UAF Trails will feature the Nanooks taking on in-state rivals, the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves.
There will also be a community race the same day, where residents can meet the student-athletes of our state.
The official campaign will feature five regular season meets, before the Conference championships and the NCAA West Regional Championships. Both squads will be competing in the same events.
The teams will be in two meets at the University of Western Oregon in September.
The Nooks will be taking on the Ash Creek Invite on the 6th, before heading back down to Monmouth, Oregon again to appear in the Sundowner Invite.
UAF will then compete in the Charles Bowles Invite on October 5th in Salem, Oregon.
The final meet before the conference championships will be October 12th, when the Nanooks compete in the Western Washington Invite.
The Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships will take place on October 26th in Billings, Montana.
The Nanooks that qualify with a sufficient time will then take on the NCAA West Regionals in Monmouth.
